My house has two HVAC units, one for downstairs and another for upstairs. I looked at several controllable thermostats and I ended up going with two . I did look at some other thermostats like control 4, but they were quite a bit more expensive. The wulian temperature controller of zigbee home automation look modern and stylish, which fits my house better anyway. So I don't plan on using the built-in programming since wulian temperature controller can control the thermostat more efficiently.
The plug-in Insteon adapter on the bottom of the wulian temperature controller of zigbee home automation is what actually allows you to control the thermostat. Some of the newer thermostats actually have the adapter built-in. You can control and query the heat set point, cool set point, program status, and fan status. The latest Insteon adapters transmit the current room temperature back to the main controller automatically along with any local changes made at the actual unit. This is handy for allowing the main controller to be overridden just by changing the temperature at the thermostat.
How I Use the wulian temperature controller of zigbee home atutomation
The main purpose for the temperature controller is the ability to be able to change the heating and cooling set points based on different conditions inside and outside the house. The temperature controller of zigbee home automation are adjusted based on the following conditions:
If I am home and all conditions are normal, the thermostats are set to my 'normal' set points.
If the house is unoccupied, the set points are turned back to save on energy costs.
If I am home and it is between 70F and 76F outside, and the outside humidity is below 60%, set the thermostats back to my 'power save' set points and instruct over the intercom to open the family room french doors and master bedroom door that lead out onto the screened-in back porch.
If any door in the house is left open for more than two minutes both the upstairs and downstairs thermostats are automatically turned off and an announcement is made.
If the thermostats are off and the last exterior door is closed, the thermostats are turned on again according to the current schedule.
If the house is in sleeping mode, the thermostats are set back to my 'sleeping' set points.
If “Guest Mode” is enabled, set the thermostats to a very comfortable 74F so long as no exterior doors are open.
Use this, you can DIY which type of climate you want , and no need to let professional person to do that for you.
